Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Human Services preferred, plus two year supervised experience working with emotionally challenged youth required.

Foster Care Certifier / Skills Trainer (Medford)

The Therapeutic Foster Care Certifier / Skills Trainer coordinates the steps required for applicants to become certified as a Therapeutic Foster Care parent with Family Solutions. Prior experience in certification is not necessary. Join our team and make a difference in the community and children’s lives.

Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) is an individualized community-based alternative to residential care for youth with severe emotional and behavioral issues (ages 5-17).

Responsibilities for this position include parent screening interviews, home studies, initial and ongoing training, follow up visits, skills training appointments with foster children after placement. The TFC Certifier coordinates treatment with Family Solution’s Case Managers, Foster Parents, DHS Case Workers, and works frequently with community partners. An essential function of this position includes Foster Parent recruitment and retention activities.

The individual filling this role must be highly organized, team oriented yet able to work independently, energetic, and passionate about helping at-risk youth.

Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology or a closely allied field is required. Two years experience relative to care and rehabilitation of children and young adults is required.

Reliable transportation to travel between homes/locations required. Applicants must be able to clear a background check, have a valid driver’s license with a minimum of 4 years driving experience, and have a clean driving record.

The selected applicant must be able to provide official transcripts sent directly from the university to Family Solutions.

Relief- Residential Treatment Counselor (Medford)

Family Solutions has on-call (not temporary) positions available within our residential treatment program in Medford. The individuals filling these roles must be team oriented, energetic, and passionate about helping at-risk youth.

In the residential setting, available shifts can include day, swing and night; any day of the week, including weekends.

What to expect as an RTC:

Provide direction/redirection to children/youth in the areas of
* Daily Living
* Hygiene
* School
* Behavior Management
* Group Work

This is a therapeutic residential home environment. Children/youth participate in daily groups (facilitated by staff), attend on-site school (until mainstreamed into local school district), and interact in the community setting as much as the child/youth is able.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. A combination of formal education and experience with children or young adults may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

The individual filling this role must have strong communication skills. Experience with electronic health records preferred, but not required. This positions are required to meet the Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) criteria.

Start date: ASAP

Respite Providers for House Parents (Medford)

Supervised Visitation Services - Family Sense ProgramFamily Solutions is seeking a couple to live and work 72 hours per month and one week per year in one of our Therapeutic Respite Homes while the house parents take time away. We have a houses in East Medford and South Grants Pass. The homes provide respite for 1-2 youths ages 6-17 for up to 5 days at a time who have emotional and behavioral issues. Position pays $200/day.

Position requires a couple (one person may not work outside the home) willing to live in our respite home and provide supervision and care for the youth residing there at the time. This couple must have a flexible schedule and be prepared to be available for times requested by the house parents. Couple must pass criminal background check.

Our agency provides full training and certification as a Therapeutic Foster Parent as well as support and ongoing training.

Family Solutions is looking for Foster Homes, Short-Term Shelter Providers, and Respite Providers in Jackson and Josephine Counties for children who have been abused or neglected or who have emotional and behavioral problems.

  • We pay $1,850 per month per child and pay for respite care.
  • We provide ongoing training and support to Foster Families.
  • Homes may have other children under the age of 16 on a case by case basis.
  • One parent must not work outside the home.
