Our Girls' Residential Program

In a peaceful neighborhood in Medford, something remarkable happens every day. At Cascade House, young women between the ages of 12 and 20 find what many have never known before: a safe place to heal, grow, and dream of a different future. But with only eight beds available, we face an urgent challenge – too many young women in crisis must wait for the help they desperately need.

Creating Pathways to Healing

For adolescent girls facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges, Cascade House offers more than just shelter – it provides a therapeutic community where transformation becomes possible. Here, in a structured yet nurturing environment, young women begin to write new chapters in their stories.

Our comprehensive approach combines the comfort of a home environment with intensive therapeutic support. Each resident participates in individual, group, and family therapy while continuing their education in our on-site classroom. Through daily life in our therapeutic community, they develop essential life skills, healthy relationships, and the confidence to face their futures.

A Day in the Life of Healing

Within these walls, every moment becomes an opportunity for growth. Each day brings new chances for our residents to develop the skills they'll need for a healthy, independent future.

They work with therapists to understand and manage their emotions in healthier ways. In our on-site classroom, they rebuild their academic confidence, often discovering a love of learning they thought they'd lost. Through carefully structured daily activities, they practice the life skills that will help them succeed, from personal care to conflict resolution.

Perhaps most importantly, they learn to trust again. In the safety of our therapeutic community, residents form positive relationships with peers who understand their struggles. Family therapy sessions help rebuild bonds that may have been strained or broken. Through it all, our residents discover their own inner strength and resilience – often surprising themselves with how far they can come.

Why Expansion is Critical

Currently, our eight-bed facility serves as a lifeline for young women in crisis – but it isn't enough. Every month, we face the heartbreaking reality of turning away girls who desperately need our help. Our vision is to build a new 12-bed residential center, allowing us to extend our reach and deepen our impact in profound ways.

The addition of just four beds would transform our capacity to serve Southern Oregon's most vulnerable young women. We could reduce the agonizing waiting times for critical care,
creating space for 50% more young women to begin their healing journey each year. A larger facility would allow us to create more specialized therapeutic programs, serving a broader range of ages and needs. Every added bed represents a young life that could be forever changed through the power of comprehensive, compassionate care.

The Power of Your Support

When you support our residential program, your generosity touches every aspect of our residents' lives. Your contribution helps provide the round-the-clock therapeutic support that guides young women through their darkest moments toward hope and healing. It ensures they have access to educational resources that can help them reclaim their academic futures. It funds the mental health counseling that helps them process trauma and build resilience. Every dollar helps create an environment where healing isn't just possible – it's expected.

Beyond these tangible supports, your contribution helps provide something even more valuable: a sense of worth. For young women who may have never experienced consistent care, knowing that strangers believe in their potential enough to invest in their future can be transformative. Your support tells them their lives matter, their futures matter, and they are worthy of care and hope.

A Bridge to Better Futures

A Bridge to Better Futures

The average stay at Cascade House is 18 months to two years – time that allows for deep healing and genuine transformation.

During this time, we work closely with each resident to prepare for their next step, whether that's reuniting with family, transitioning to long-term foster care, or moving toward independent living.

Our team uses a collaborative approach, bringing together the young woman, her family members, caseworkers, service providers, and advocates to create and follow an individualized plan for success. This comprehensive support system ensures that each resident has the tools and resources she needs to build a stable, healthy future.

Join Us in Growing Hope

The need for expanded residential services in Southern Oregon has never been greater. With your support, we can build a new facility that will allow us to say "yes" to more young women who need our help. Every contribution brings us closer to our goal of creating a larger, even more impactful residential program.
